Fabric choice by sport
Three live fabrics cover almost every college tournament. The choice comes down to airflow, hand feel and budget.
Poly Mesh (140 GSM)
Lightweight, breathable, with visible micro-holes. The default for football, basketball, volleyball and badminton, anywhere maximum airflow matters. The most economical fabric in the range, available as round-neck or polo.
Pro Knit (200 GSM)
Heavyweight premium polyester with a substantial feel. The premium tier for core team kits, finals and alumni-funded tournament jerseys.
Dot Knit Shorts (180 GSM)
The bottom half of the kit. Sublimated in the same colour block as the jersey, with the team name on the side panel and sponsor logos on the front leg.
04 — Sublimation
Why sublimation for tournament jerseys
Sublimation works only on polyester. It prints the design into the fibre rather than on top of it, so there is no texture, nothing to peel, full-colour fidelity and coverage across the whole garment. That is why it is the standard for activewear. Each jersey prints from its own file, so a different name and number on every piece costs nothing extra beyond preparing the roster. How tournaments procure
Most committees order two or three pieces per team: a round-neck or polo jersey, matching shorts, and sometimes a premium Pro Knit jersey for the home side or finals. For multi-day inter-college events, sponsor logos go on the chest and back panel.
Lead time falls into three tiers. With 60 or more days before the first match, standard production runs with a buffer for sample approval. Between 30 and 60 days, a rush schedule is possible with a surcharge. Under 30 days, the options narrow to stock blanks with print. Multi-team tournaments, where each side needs a different colour block, should build extra time at the front.
